DAILY ITINERARY Day 1 USA/Moscow Depart today aboard a comfortable Finnair overnight flight to Moscow. Day 2 Moscow Arrival in Moscow, celebrating its 850th Anniversary with festivities and world-class exhibitions throughout the year. This will be a great time to visit Moscow as the city remembers its past in culture, music and fun.. Transfer to your hotel. (D) Hotel: Intourist Day 3 Moscow Enjoy a City Panorama tour highlighting Moscow University, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Olympic Stadium and Gum Depart-ment Store. Then be one of the first to tour the new Exhibit at Resurrection Gates on Red Square featuring 90 rare artifacts such as 7th century manuscripts and jewels, the cup made by Peter the Great's hands for his prince, the repentance "hair shirt" of Ivan the Terrible and the Star of St. George. This afternoon enjoy an excursion to visit the lovely village of Sergei Posad (formerly Zagorsk) whose centerpiece is the ancient monastery of Sergei Posad. The monastery boasts outstanding and unique architecture plus hidden treasures of art within the sacred churches on the grounds. (B,D) Day 4 Moscow/St. Petersburg Sightseeing today will feature the 64-acre Kremlin with its museums, cathedrals and palaces including Cathedral Square, a view of the Czar's Giant Bell, and a special visit to the Armory Chamber, which houses the vast treasures of the Czars including the Faberge Eggs.Then enjoy a special tour of the awe-inspriing Diamond Fund. This afternoon enjoy a private tour of the art treasures of the magnificent Tretyakov Gallery which features the works of many centuries of Russia's master artists and its most famous collection of priceless icons. After dinner, take in a stirring performance in the famous Bolshoi Theatre before transferring to your first class, 2-berth private compartment overnight train bound for St. Petersburg. (B,D) Day 5 St. Petersburg Morning arrival in St. Petersburg where you will be transferred to your hotel. Morning Panorama Sightseeing views the impressive Peter and Paul Fortress, (burial site of the Romanov Czars), St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Admiralty Building and Nevsky Prospekt and other famous landmarks. Also, enjoy a special visit to the exclusive "Scythian Gold Room" housing a magnificent display of unique and historically significant gold objects. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to perhaps shop for one of the country's many handicrafts such as the hand-painted lacquer boxes or the famous Russian stack doll. This evening enjoy a theatre performance at the historic and elegant Kirov Theatre where history surrounds you as you enjoy a performance. This afternoon enjoy an excursion to Petrodvorets, the formersummer palace of the Czars. The palace and the gardens truly rival those of Versailles.
